Veronica Șturmilova is a young rhythmic gymnast from the Republic of Moldova, aged 16, who has been practicing this sport since she was 11 and quickly became one of the country's most talented athletes. Her impressive record includes multiple national championship titles, bronze medals at international championships, such as the one obtained in the clubs exercise at a tournament in Baku, and, notably, the gold medal in the hoop exercise at the European Championship in Belgium in February 2023, with a score of 32.250. She also excelled at World Cup stages, achieving 3rd place in clubs and 4th place in hoop in Tashkent, as well as 39th place in the all-around in Baku, carrying the Moldovan flag on international stages recognized by the International Gymnastics Federation. In her personal life, Veronica was raised solely by her father, who works hard to support her financially in her sports career, covering the costs of national and international competitions. Her determination, demonstrated through intense training in the last six months before major events, places her among Moldova's remarkable women, exemplifying resilience in the face of financial and institutional obstacles in high-performance sports.
