Natalia Levcencova, born on July 30, 1977, in Smolensk, Russia, is a remarkable biathlete who represented the Republic of Moldova after obtaining citizenship in 2003. Her career began in 1988 at the Dinamo Smolensk club, where she won multiple junior medals, including two bronzes at the Junior World Championships in 1997 (12.5 km individual and 3x7.5 km relay), a summer biathlon world title in 1999, and the Russian national champion title in 2001. Her transfer to Moldova was motivated by the fierce competition within the Russian team, and under coach Alexandru Hlusovici, she debuted in the World Cups, achieving 62nd place in the sprint in 2003. Her major achievements under the flag of the Republic of Moldova include 8th place in the 15 km individual event at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin – Moldova's best historical result at the Winter Olympics – as well as participation in the 2010 Olympics, where she ranked 36th-55th In parallel with her sports career, Natalia Levcencova has worked as a Category I sports instructor at the Department of Carabinieri Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2006.
