Tania Popa was born on January 19, 1973, in Căușeni, Republic of Moldova, and has become one of the most acclaimed theater and film actresses in Romania. She graduated from the Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Bucharest in 1994, becoming the youngest actress hired at the National Theatre of Bucharest that year. Throughout her career, she has accumulated an impressive repertoire in both theater, with over 20 leading roles and interpretations ranging from Shakespeare to Caragiale, and in cinema, starring in numerous films that have participated in prestigious festivals, including the Berlin Film Festival. Her impressive filmography includes roles in films of cinematic importance such as "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days" (2007), "Beyond the Hills" (2012), "Tales from the Golden Age" (2009), and "Ana, mon amour" (2017). She has been nominated for Gopo and UNITER awards for her remarkable performances, and in 1995 she received the Award for Female Performance at the UCIN Biennial. In addition to her work in film and theater, Tania Popa has collaborated with TNB and numerous cultural institutions in Romania, appearing on television shows and participating in international theater festivals. In her personal life, Tania Popa is married to Veaceslav Damian and has two children, Daria and Slavic. Beyond her acting career, she is passionate about fashion design and tailoring, creating stage costumes since 2016, and her multifaceted talents are also reflected in her participation in various projects in the field of music and concert shows, demonstrating remarkable versatility in the performing arts world.
