Anna Matus is a professional dancer from the Republic of Moldova, internationally recognized for her exceptional performances in ballroom dancing, specializing in Latin. Together with her partner Gabriele Goffredo, with whom she formed a partnership in 2011, she has dominated the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) circuits, winning multiple world championships, such as those in Vienna (2015), Leipzig (2021, 2022), and Chișinău (2023), as well as the World Games in 2013 in Cali and 2022 in Birmingham. Their personal and exuberant style has generated controversy, but has brought titles in GrandSlam events, Super Grand Prix events, and European championships, consistently placing them on the podium in competitions across Europe, Asia, and America. She represented Moldova in the Professional division, participating in hundreds of international competitions in locations such as Stuttgart, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Shanghai, where they achieved resounding victories and were named IWGA Athletes of the Month in 2016. Although their main activity took place in Italy, where many major tournaments were held and where the couple trained intensively, Anna brought glory to Moldovan dance through medals at World Open and International Open events, contributing to the promotion of the sport in her home country through events like Chisinau Open. In her personal life, Anna Matus forms a couple not only on the dance floor but also in her relationship with Gabriele Goffredo, originally from Italy, which influenced their joint trajectory in European competitions. Now retired from competitive activity since 2024, she remains a symbol of excellence in Latin dance, inspiring future generations of Moldovan dancers through her dedication and remarkable achievements.
