Mihaela Jardan, originally from Ungheni, Republic of Moldova, is a remarkable neurologist, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at "Carol Davila" University in Bucharest. She completed her residency at "Nicolae Testemițanu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Chișinău and initially worked at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in the Moldovan capital. Profoundly influenced by her father, a neurologist, she chose this career in her adolescence, spending hours in his office, although he initially opposed her decision. Abroad, she benefited from a DAAD scholarship for a six-month internship in 2008 at the "J.W. Goethe" University Clinic in Frankfurt am Main, an experience that facilitated her adaptation to the German medical system. For over a decade, Mihaela Jardan has been established in Germany, practicing as a neurologist with her own practice at Markenbildchenweg 6 in Koblenz, where she consults publicly and privately insured patients. Previously, she worked at Krankenhaus Plau am See, a regional hospital 160 km from Berlin, and collaborates with platforms like Doctolib and Jameda. She highlights the major differences between medical systems: in Germany, access to advanced diagnostics and treatment places an enormous responsibility on doctors, unlike in Moldova, where her departure was motivated by a lack of professional development, modest salaries, and precarious conditions, including the use of inefficient and expensive medications. With recognized courage, Mihaela Jardan stood out in 2010 through her public intervention at an electoral meeting at the Institute of Neurology, criticizing the Moldovan healthcare system in front of officials, a gesture later welcomed by colleagues. Having left for Germany with her husband, she supports the current reforms in Moldova, expressing her support for the Sandu Government and emphasizing that change begins with each individual. Although she appreciates the opportunities in the host country, she states that she would not withstand the current environment in the Republic of Moldova in the long term, preferring the professional stability and quality of life offered by the German system.
