Larisa Nikolaevna Hromova (June 16, 1940 – August 28, 2020) was a distinguished Soviet and Moldovan theater actress, recognized for her significant contribution to the development of Russian dramatic art in the Republic of Moldova. Born in Saratov, she began her artistic training in 1957 at the drama studio attached to the State Drama Theater in her hometown, under the guidance of director Nikolai Bondarev. Her career debuted at the "A. K. Tolstoy" Drama Theater in Bryansk (1961–1964). A turning point in her life occurred in 1964, during the Bryansk troupe's tour in Chisinau, when she was invited to join the collective of the "A. P. Chekhov" State Russian Drama Theater. She performed on the stage of this theater until December 1995, establishing herself as a prominent figure on the Chisinau stage through memorable roles in plays such as "The Drummer," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," and "The Stone Guest." For her outstanding artistic merits, in 1975 she was awarded the title of Merited Artist of the Moldavian SSR. In pursuit of continuous professional development, Larisa Khromova graduated in 1985 from the State Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow, specializing in the history of theatrical art. After retiring from the theatre stage, she dedicated herself to pedagogy, organizing a children's theatre studio at the "Vasile Lupu" High School in Chisinau. She was also an active director of events dedicated to the Day of Slavic Culture and Writing in Moldova. In 1994, she was awarded the "Meritul Civic" medal for her contribution to national culture.
