Stela Popa is a remarkable journalist and writer from the Republic of Moldova, born on August 7, 1982, in Coșcodeni, Sîngerei district. With a career in TV and radio journalism spanning over two decades, she has built a solid reputation in both Moldovan and Romanian media. She graduated from the State University of Moldova, Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, and completed her academic training with a Master's degree in Political Sciences in 2006. In the Republic of Moldova, Stela was the anchor of the main news bulletin at Jurnal TV for seven years, and her blog was awarded the best media blog in the country in 2009. From Bucharest, she hosted the show "Closer to Europe" for Radio Vocea Basarabiei and Radio România Internațional between 2009 and 2012. Since 2016, the journalist has fulfilled her childhood dream of working at Televiziunea Română, becoming the first Bessarabian woman to present news on a national television channel in Romania. At TVR 2, she co-anchors the show "Ora de știri" with Teodora Antonescu, and since 2023, she also presents the 11:00 PM nightly news on TVR INFO. Her professional activity has been recognized with numerous awards and distinctions: in 2012 and 2014, she received the title of best news anchor in the Republic of Moldova, and in 2013, she was included in the selection "99 Women of Moldova." Alongside her media career, Stela Popa is also a successful writer. In 2009, she published the volume "100 de zile" with Tritonic Publishing House in Bucharest, a novel in which she combines the story of a relationship with the description of the Twitter Revolution in Chișinău. She is also the author of the children's story collection "Povești pentru Dănuț" (Stories for Dănuț), dedicated to her son Dan-Andrei, which includes four volumes published by Cartier Publishing House: "Îngerii Mării" (Angels of the Sea) (2015), "Semincioara fermecată" (The Enchanted Seed) (2016), "Sofia Păpădia" (Sofia the Dandelion) (2016), and "Regele cel Înțelept" (The Wise King) (2017). The volume "Îngerii Mării" was declared "Book of the Year" at the Fair of Books for Children and Youth in Chișinău. Stela is married to Dan Dungaciu and lives in Bucharest, where she continues to dedicate herself to journalism and writing with passion and professionalism.
