About
Ana Filimon, an actress and director originally from the Republic of Moldova, has made a name for herself in the Austrian theater scene by successfully graduating from the Vienna International Drama Center - Schauspielschule Pygmalion, the only school in Austria that predominantly teaches according to Bertolt Brecht's principles. She obtained her directing diploma in February 2018, after having completed her graduation productions in 2017, with plays such as Samuel Beckett's "Warten auf Godot" and Anton Chekhov's "Der Kirschgarten," which received excellent grades. Her theoretical works, including a directing notebook and an acting notebook, were recognized as models for future actors and directors. Her career includes collaborations with theaters in Vienna, such as OFF-Theater, where she directed Brecht's play "Der Spitzel" from the cycle "Furcht und Elend des Dritten Reiches" in 2017, receiving prolonged applause from the specialized audience. She participated in Moldovan cultural events in Austria, including the commemoration of Mihai Eminescu at Palais Lobkowitz and concerts by composer Eugen Doga at Schönbrunner Schlosstheater. The Austrian press, such as meinbezirk.at, and the Moldovan press, PROMOTIME.MD, have highlighted her successes, including in multimedia projects such as artistic filming of the blooming of brushes in Moststraße or golf tournaments where she excelled alongside her partner. Ana Filimon is married to Ernst Sperrer, a video producer and documentary film enthusiast, with whom she collaborates on artistic projects, including YouTube channels dedicated to Moldovan theater and culture. The couple lives in Vienna and Gloggnitz, sharing common passions for theater, travel, and sports such as golf, where they have achieved notable victories in tournaments like the Porsche Golf-Cup. Her future plans include large-scale stagings of Chekhov, with national and international tours, reflecting her ambition to promote quality theater in the European cultural space.
