Olga Monacell is a strategic communication and public relations specialist with a career spanning over two decades in the field. After graduating from Moldova State University with a bachelor's degree in French language and literature, she continued her studies in the United States, earning a master's degree in communication from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a doctorate in mass communication from Syracuse University. Her professional experience is marked by collaborations with nonprofit organizations, governmental institutions, and international entities, where she provided strategic consulting and managed public relations and content communication campaigns. Currently, Olga Monacell is the director of the master's program in Strategic Communication and Leadership and an associate professor at Ashland in the Department of Communication Studies. Throughout her career, she has worked with prestigious institutions such as the International Republican Institute, the World Bank, and various international development organizations. Her areas of specialization include corporate and country reputation, public diplomacy, nonprofit management, and international communication, and her academic contributions include articles and book chapters dedicated to these topics. Originally from the Odesa region of Ukraine, Olga Monacell has a unique perspective on intercultural communication and public diplomacy, being multilingual and having direct experience working in conflict zones, including Iraq and Afghanistan. She is an active member of the National Communication Association and the Public Relations Society of America, and at the university, she mentors students in the American chapter of the Public Relations Student Society. Her dedication to academic excellence and her contributions to understanding countries' reputations in the context of public diplomacy position her as an important voice in the field of contemporary strategic communication.
