Alexandra Mîrca is an internationally renowned Moldovan archer, born on October 11, 1993, in Chișinău. Throughout her career, she has represented the Republic of Moldova at four consecutive Olympic Games: Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024, and also participated in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. As one of the country's most established athletes, Alexandra was chosen as the flag bearer for Romania at the opening ceremony of the 2020 Olympic Games and again in 2024, which is a special honor in the world of sports. Alexandra Mîrca's sporting achievements are impressive and recognized at the European level. In 2016, alongside teammate Dan Olaru, she became European champion in the mixed doubles event, and in the same year, she secured 3rd place at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Antalya. Later, in 2019, she won the silver medal at the Berlin World Cup in mixed doubles partnered with Dan Olaru, and in 2023, at the European Games, she finished 4th in the same event. Her training is coordinated by Irina Cecanova, and Alexandra benefits from the support of the Dynamo Chișinău club. Besides her career as an elite athlete, Alexandra Mîrca has intertwined her professional life with family responsibilities, being a mother. Her situation demonstrates the ability to maintain a balance between a high-level competitive career and personal life, and her determination to repeatedly participate in the Olympic Games reflects her dedication and passion for sports. With a height of 168 centimeters and a weight of 65 kilograms, Alexandra remains an emblematic figure of Moldovan archery and an ambassador for the Republic of Moldova in the international sports arena.
