About

Eugenia Gușilov is a Moldovan energy analyst and entrepreneur, known for founding the Romania Energy Center (ROEC) in 2010, the first independent English-language energy think tank in Romania. Born in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, she moved to Bucharest at the age of 13 in 1995, where she attended the Nicolae Tonitza Art High School after excelling in various subjects and winning numerous city and national drawing competitions. She continued her academic training at the University of Bucharest, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Political Science and European Studies, before moving to the United States for postgraduate studies. Eugenia Gușilov's professional path was marked by a Fulbright scholarship, through which she studied at Columbia University in New York (2008-2010), where she obtained a Master's degree in International Business with a specialization in International Energy Management and Policy. After also obtaining a Certificate from the Harriman Institute (with a thesis on Production Sharing Agreements in Russia), she returned to Romania and worked as a researcher at the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, analyzing economic and political developments in former Soviet countries. Her experience includes political analysis, consulting, academic research, and business strategies, with a focus on energy markets, oil and gas policies, and energy economics. As Founding Director of ROEC, Eugenia Gușilov coordinates an independent think tank specializing in complex international studies, energy market analysis, energy policies, and political risk assessment. Her activities include strategic management, planning, project implementation, and quantitative and qualitative research in the energy sector. In addition to her role as Director of ROEC, Eugenia also serves as Business Development Manager at Umbrella Group and is a member of several professional organizations such as the Romania-U.S. Business Council, the Romanian Petroleum Club, and IENE. In 2022, she was recognized as one of the Top 100 Successful Women in Romania, in the "Education and Research" category.
