She studied at the Yerevan State University (1973), Faculty of Mathematics. There she achieved her first successes: the title of Women's Champion of Armenia in 1970, 1971, and 1972, and Women's Champion of Azerbaijan in 1974. In the same year, she transferred to the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the MSSR, married chess player Tudor Scripcenco, and in 1976 a baby girl was born in their family, the future world chess champion Almira Scripcenco, who is now settled in France. Naira participated in the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR in 1971, 1975, 1979, and 1983. In 1979, she played as part of the women's chess team of the MSSR. She participated in the World Chess Olympiad in Manila (1992), Moscow (1994), and Yerevan (1996). She became the champion of the MSSR, and later of the Republic of Moldova, 8 times (1977, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1994, 1996). In 1994, in Moscow, she was awarded the title of International Master of Chess. Since 1992, she has been coaching the Moldovan women's Olympic team. She is the first woman to be awarded the title of Emeritus Coach of Moldova in Chess. She is a member of the Presidium of the Chess Federation of Moldova. In 2002, she was awarded the state distinction 'Meritul Civic'.
