Olga Orlova is a multifaceted personality from Romania, known for her social work and remarkable civic engagement. At the age of 103, she became the oldest person enumerated in Bucharest as of 2022, demonstrating exemplary devotion to her civic responsibilities, even with reduced mobility. Born in Bessarabia, Olga Orlova has lived since 1968 in an apartment building on Timișoara Boulevard in Sector 6 of the Capital, where she has built a life of remarkable stability and dedication. Throughout a life spanning over a century, Olga Orlova participated in ten national censuses out of the fourteen organized in Romania, always showing exemplary civic consciousness. For the civic spirit and energy that characterize her, she was congratulated by the authorities of the Sector 6 City Hall and by representatives of the National Institute of Statistics, receiving diplomas and history books, which have become her favorites. Although she had not left her home for six years for safety reasons, she did not hesitate to open the door to the enumerator, considering it a normal and fair obligation of a responsible citizen. At the age of 103, Olga Orlova continues to manage her own household, carrying out daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, home repairs, sewing, and reading. She attributes her longevity to a balanced life, based on sustained work, a rational and moderate diet, abstinence from smoking and coffee consumption, and the absence of medication use. Her example of an active life, mental lucidity, and civic responsibility has inspired local authorities and state institutions to highlight her as a role model for involvement and dedication to the community, demonstrating that passion for life does not diminish with age.
