About
Between 1947 and 1952, she studied violin at the "Gavriil Musicescu" State Conservatory in Chișinău. In 1958, after working for five years at the music school, she re-enrolled at the Conservatory, in L. Gurov's composition class, and graduated in 1962. The composer carried out a prodigious teaching activity here for over 40 years. Zlata Tcaci was awarded the honorary title "Merited Master of Arts of Moldova" (1974), laureate of the State Prize of Moldova (1982), and other awards and distinctions. Zlata Tcaci is the author of over 800 musical works, created in different genres: from children's songs and instrumental miniatures to vocal cycles, symphonic, vocal-symphonic, and musical-theatrical compositions. 578 of these have been published. Music for children occupied a priority place in the composer's work. Zlata Tcaci is the author of the first opera "Capra cu trei iezi" (The Goat with Three Kids) (1966) and the first ballet for children in post-war Moldovan music.
