About

Olga Oprunenco, an author and illustrator of children's books from Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, has distinguished herself by creating vibrant and emotional worlds that celebrate curiosity and kindness. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Chisinau, she masterfully uses watercolors and colored pencils, finishing the illustrations digitally to achieve a bright, sincere, and humorous style, accessible to children. Her first book, "The Case of the Missing Shoes," published in collaboration with Scholastic Asia, marks her debut as an author, and she is currently working on a new project, a book of poems and images titled "A Cup of Tea," in which a little girl invites the zoo for tea. Based in Bangkok, Thailand, Olga collaborates with international agencies such as Illo Agency and Yeon Agency, promoting her illustration talent to a global audience. She teaches art and organizes creative workshops, including unique mindfulness camps for children aged 6-12, in partnership with specialized practitioners, where she combines art with sensory exercises to cultivate calmness and joy. Her work in Thailand reflects a successful adaptation of Moldovan artistic traditions to international contexts, contributing to the aesthetic education of new generations through innovative projects. A proud mother of two boys and a daughter, Olga Oprunenco often integrates elements of family life into her creations, drawing inspiration from daily dynamics to convey positive values. Her Moldovan roots motivate her to promote cultural diversity in illustration, building bridges between Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. Through her work, she not only illustrates stories but also educates, transforming art into a tool for empathy and discovery for children worldwide.
