Aurelia Macovei, born in Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, began her musical journey at the age of six at the "Ciprian Porumbescu" High School in Chisinau. She later graduated from the "Gavriil Musicescu" Academy of Music under the guidance of masters Naum Hosch, Natalia Ciaikovsky, and Alexander Kaushansky, who were disciples of legends such as Zigansky, Michlin, and David Oistrakh. At just 19 years old, she became the first violin soloist of the Moldovan Radio and Television Orchestra and subsequently of the Chisinau Philharmonic Orchestra, giving recitals in European and Russian centers, where she performed concertos by Khachaturian, Paganini, and Tchaikovsky with orchestras. Upon arriving in Italy, she graduated from the "D. Cimarosa" Conservatory, followed by specializations at the "W. Stauffer" Academy with Salvatore Accardo and at Teatro alla Scala, collaborating as first violin with orchestras such as the Campania Regional Orchestra, the "Cantelli" Orchestra of Milan, and the Italian Chamber Orchestra. Based in Italy, Aurelia Macovei has had an impressive career, performing in countries such as Spain, France, England, Scotland, Wales, China, Japan, Russia, and Florida. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras from Bacău (Romania), Ufa (Russia), Burgas (Bulgaria), Minsk (Belarus), the "Carisch" Orchestra of Milan, the Salerno Symphony Orchestra, and the Campania Regional Orchestra, also participating in chamber ensembles. In 2016, she undertook a tour in China, performing in the most prestigious concert halls, and currently collaborates permanently with the Italian Chamber Orchestra. She is also frequently invited to historical instrument auditions at the Museo del Violino in Cremona, where she performs on Stradivari, Amati, and Guarneri violins in the Giovanni Arvedi Auditorium, and teaches violin at the Accademia di Musica in Lodi. Culturally adopted by Italy, where she has built an exceptional career, Aurelia Macovei represents an example of female excellence from the Republic of Moldova in the world of classical music.
