About

Olga Karmansky is an exceptional rhythmic gymnast who represented the United States of America at major international competitions. Her athletic career culminated with the title of national all-around champion in 2005, two Pan American championship titles, and the status of official alternate for the American Olympic team at the 2004 Athens Games. Notable achievements include gold medals at the 2001 and 2005 Pan American championships in the team event, silvers in the individual all-around and other apparatus, as well as appearances at the 2005 World Championships, solidifying her position as one of the most talented American rhythmic gymnasts of her era. After retiring from competition in 2006, due to obstacles in qualifying for the Beijing Olympics, Olga transformed her skills into professional contortion and acrobatics, performing in renowned theater and circus productions. She was part of the original cast of the Broadway musical "Pippin" in 2013, directed by Diane Paulus, and performed at the American Repertory Theater, the Panic! At The Disco tour, the Venice Biennale alongside Allora + Calzadilla, as well as in TV shows such as "Law & Order: SVU" and "Strange Beauty." She collaborates with organizations like USA Gymnastics and prestigious New York theaters, including The Public Theater. Influenced by her mother, a former rhythmic gymnast, Olga began training at a young age at the Nova Athletics club in Brooklyn, practicing intensely for 40 hours a week to master the rope, hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon apparatus. Her family supported her unconditionally, sacrificing their resources for her career, and she acknowledges that her parents channeled her and her brother's energy into multiple sports and arts. Today, at 39 years old, Olga continues to inspire with her versatility, transitioning from competitive sport to high-level entertainment in the United States.
