Isabelle Haile, a remarkable Ethiopian-Moldovan soprano, began her musical journey in the Republic of Moldova, as a member of the youth choir "Voices of Spring," one of the most prestigious in the country. She continued her studies at the Cantoria Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where in 2020 she obtained a Master of Arts with Distinction in Vocal Performance and the DipRAM award for her final recital. Specializing in Baroque and Early music, she won the Audience Prize and second prize at the 2024 Handel International Singing Competition, having been a semi-finalist at the Bach Singers Prize, and received the Special Prize "Provincia di Roma" in 2014 for her performance of a Monteverdi motet. Her career includes collaborations with renowned ensembles such as Sarum Consort, Sonoro, Eboracum Baroque, Coro Spezzato, and Lerion Consort, as well as with London Voices, contributing to Hollywood film soundtracks and choral albums for Oxford University Press. She debuted at the Zurich Opera in George Benjamin's "Lessons in Love and Violence," performed roles such as Second Woman in "Dido and Aeneas" at Hampstead Garden Opera and Barbarina in "Le nozze di Figaro" with The Mozartists. Notable achievements include the recording of Bernard Hughes's song cycle "Metropolis," released in 2023 on the album "Songs for Our Times," and the world premiere of this work in 2025 at St Bride's Church in London, alongside pianist Asako Ogawa. She has also performed at the Brighton Festival and is invited to the Halle Handel Festival in 2025. Deeply inspired by her mother, who possessed a beautiful voice and an artistic soul, though not professionally trained in music, Isabelle abandoned her initial studies in economics and finance to pursue her passion, overcoming challenges such as the lack of a formal musical background and intense industry competition. Based in London, she promotes diversity in classical music, taking pride in her interpretations of motets by Vicente Lusitano, one of the earliest composers in European music history. With a rising career, Haile continues to inspire through her art, bringing joy to international audiences.
