Ludmila Ghinzburg was a prestigious pianist and music educator, particularly associated with the Odesa music scene and the development of the Ukrainian piano school. Born in 1916 in Akkerman, Bessarabia, she graduated from the Odesa Conservatory under Professor Maria Starkova and continued her training at the Moscow Conservatory, where she also worked as an assistant to Heinrich Neuhaus. Throughout her career, she was appreciated for her interpretive culture, stylistic refinement, and vast repertoire, which included works by Mozart, Chopin, Schumann, Grieg, Brahms, Prokofiev, as well as compositions by Ukrainian authors such as Dankevych and Krasotov. From 1946, she was active at the Odesa Conservatory, an institution where, from 1989, she headed the specialized piano department; sources about her work also mention that she led the faculty's student scientific society for many years. She gave recitals and orchestral concerts in Ukraine and abroad, including in Finland, Germany, and France, and her pedagogical activity trained a generation of performers and educators. Among her students are Liudmyla Martsevych, Volodymyr Sobolevskyi, and other musicians who continued the interpretive tradition of the Odesa school. For her artistic and pedagogical merits, Ludmila Ghinzburg received the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine, and in 1989 she was confirmed as a professor. In the Ukrainian public space, her memory has been honored by renaming streets in Odesa and by installing a commemorative plaque on the house where she lived. Public information about her personal life is limited, but it is clear that she remained connected to Odesa all her life, the city where she achieved artistic recognition and where she passed away in 2001.
