About

Hero of Socialist Labor, Decree Date: 15.02.1957 Medal No.: 7369, Order of Lenin No.: 314539 Evghenia Florina was a team leader (zveno) at the "Dzerjinski" state farm in the Dubăsari district, Moldavian SSR. She was born in 1928 in the village of Bolșoi Fontan, Dubăsari district. After graduating from the seven-year school, she began working at the "Dzerjinski" state farm in the Dubăsari district, organized in her native village. From 1949, she became a team leader in the horticulture brigade. Her six team members were responsible for 6 hectares of fruit-bearing orchard. This plot was maintained in exemplary condition, with all tree care work carried out during optimal agrotechnical periods. Labor discipline within the collective was at the highest level, largely due to the team leader's merit. In 1953, 234 centners of apples were harvested per hectare, in 1954 – 210 centners, in 1955 – 300 centners, and in 1956 – 320 centners per hectare. Additionally, 70% of the harvest was delivered to the state as first-category fruit, compared to only 15% in 1949. By Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 15, 1957, for outstanding successes in the development of all branches of agriculture, the widespread application of scientific achievements and advanced experience in agricultural production, obtaining rich harvests and increasing the productivity of public animal husbandry, Evgenia Efremovna Florina was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor, with the presentation of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal "Hammer and Sickle". For successes achieved in increasing the production and procurement of grapes, fruits, and vegetables, upon the completion of the seven-year plan (1959–1965), she was awarded a second Order of Lenin. She was a delegate to the IX (1960), X (1961), and XI (1963) Congresses of the Communist Party of Moldova. She was elected a deputy to the local Soviets of People's Deputies. She lived in the village of Dzerjinskoe, Dubăsari district. She passed away in 1976. She was awarded two Orders of Lenin (15.02.1957; 30.04.1966), medals, including "For Distinction in Labor" (26.04.1963), as well as the Diploma of Honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldavian SSR. In May 2017, an Honor Board of Heroes of Socialist Labor was unveiled in Dubăsari, featuring the portrait of Eugenia Florina.
