About
Claudia Chiper, born on June 16, 1995, in the village of Delacău, Anenii Noi district, Republic of Moldova, is considered her country's number one footballer, distinguishing herself as an exceptional forward and midfielder. She began her career in 2007 at FC Roma Calfa, then at FC Noroc Nimoreni, where she played until 2018, winning national trophies. Her international career includes stints at clubs in Romania (Heniu Prundu Bârgăului, Carmen București, Farul Constanța), Cyprus (Nea Salamis, Barcelona FA Limassol – with whom she won the Cypriot Cup, Pyrgos Limassol, Omonia Nicosia), Sweden (FK Smedjebacken), and Italy (Apulia Trani). With Farul Constanța, where she has been since 2023, she became a triple Romanian champion and won the Romanian Cup in 2023 with Carmen București, being named the best player of the final. For the Republic of Moldova women's national team, Claudia Chiper holds the absolute records: 73 matches and 10 goals, debuting in 2015 against Lithuania and scoring three goals in the first Euro 2017 qualifiers. She previously played for the U17 and U19 selections, contributing to the development of Moldovan women's football. She was chosen as the best player of Moldova in 2023 and 2025, the best of the 2023/24 season in the Romanian SuperLiga by the Association of Amateur and Non-Amateur Footballers, as well as the player of the season in the Women's SuperLiga. Her passion for football was passed down by her older sister, Cristina, who inspired her to enter the world of sports, and Claudia declares that she lives intensely for football: "I wake up with football, I eat football, I drink football!". Although detailed information about her personal life remains limited in public sources, her constant dedication, with transfers to multiple European championships, places her among the remarkable women from Moldova who promote women's football in a male-dominated context, inspiring young female athletes in the region.
