About
Inna Cebotari is a Moldovan-Romanian actress, playwright, and theater director, born in June 1986, with a significant career in her home country and on the international stage. Trained at the Academy of Music, Theater, and Fine Arts in Chisinau, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in acting and playwriting, Cebotari continued her master's studies at prestigious European institutions: the University of Arts in Târgu Mureș (specializing in Playwriting and Stage), the School of Theater Arts in Moscow under the guidance of master Victor Ryzhakov, and the School of Theater Leaders in Moscow. Her professional beginnings were marked by intense activity in Chisinau, working at the Mihai Eminescu National Theater, at the Center for Contemporary Drama, and participating in international festivals. Cebotari's career included significant roles in cinema, the most important being the lead role in the film "All God's Children" (2010), a production that brought the Republic of Moldova its first nomination for an Oscar Award in the "Best Foreign Language Film" category at the 86th Academy Awards. He also appeared in the film "Playing the Moldovans at Tennis" (2011), directed by Tony Hawks. On stage, he performed in productions at the Meyerhold Theater Center in Moscow and collaborated with prestigious institutions such as the Goethe-Institut, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Poland, and the Swiss Cooperation Office. Since 2021, Inna Cebotari has been based in London, where she is active as a director, playwright, and theater producer. During this period, she founded the theater company Kinth Square Ltd, where she serves as director, and in March 2024, she wrote and co-produced the play "Dad Is Not My Friend" at The Cockpit Theatre in London, supported by Arts Council England. The play explores contemporary themes such as the relationship between parents and teenagers in the context of artificial intelligence influence, receiving favorable reviews. She also works as a member of the Projekt Empower program at the international theater company Projekt Europa in London.
