Ina Zdorovețchi is an internationally renowned harpist, born in the Republic of Moldova and a naturalized citizen of the United States. She is the Principal Harpist of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, the Portland Symphony Orchestra in Maine, and the Boston Lyric Opera, while simultaneously holding the position of Associate Professor of Harp at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music. She frequently appears as a soloist in concerts with various prestigious orchestras, including the West German Radio Symphony Orchestra in Cologne, the Jerusalem Symphony, the Haifa Symphony, and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, earning recognition for her captivating performances and unique instrumental tone. Zdorovețchi's career is marked by significant world and European premieres: she presented the world premiere of Thomas Oboe Lee's Harp Concerto "...bisbigliando..." and the European premiere of John Williams' Harp Concerto "On Willows and Birches," both of which were broadcast live on international radio stations. Her live performance of Arturo Márquez's Harp Concerto "Máscaras" is featured on the Portland Symphony Orchestra's first CD, released in 2024 by PARMA Recordings. As a chamber musician, she has performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, and her recitals have been broadcast on National Public Radio and various radio stations in Israel, Germany, Romania, and Moldova, and she has been recorded for major record labels such as Sony, Naxos, and BMOP/Sound. Her academic background is solid, holding degrees from the New England Conservatory, Boston University, and the Boston Conservatory, with substantial additional studies at the Tanglewood Music Center between 2003-2006 and the Bucharest University of Music in Romania. Ina has been the recipient of numerous distinctions, including First Prize and several special prizes at the 17th International Harp Competition in Israel, second prize at the Cité des Arts International Competition in Paris, the Henry Cabot Award from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the status of Alien with Extraordinary Abilities in the Arts granted by the U.S. Department of State. Her students have won numerous important competitions and have been accepted into prestigious institutions such as the Juilliard School, Yale University, and the Eastman School of Music.
