Svetlana Tizu became an internationally known name in 2015, when the British publication Daily Mail named her "the sexiest judge in the world." This label came after the magistrate from the Chișinău Court (Centru headquarters) posted several photos on social media that deviated from the conservative patterns of the legal system. In the images, Tizu appeared in modern outfits, accessorized with "glamorous" elements, such as high-heeled shoes or tight-fitting clothes, which quickly attracted the attention of the tabloid press outside the country. Although her online popularity was explosive, it also brought criticism regarding professional ethics. The Daily Mail emphasized that, in the Republic of Moldova, the law obliges magistrates to behave in a way that does not harm the prestige of justice, questioning the compatibility between her public image and the position she held.
