About
Cristina Doros is a remarkable finance professional with a career spanning over 28 years, marked by leadership positions in the payments and banking services industry. Born in the Republic of Moldova, she began her professional journey at Moldova Agroindbank, the largest bank in the country at the time, where she rapidly progressed from FX Trader to Head of the Card Division, then Vice President of the Board of Directors responsible for cards, IT, and payments. She managed strategic vision, product development, compliance with international standards, and the implementation of innovations such as mobile banking, consolidating her expertise in retail business and card operations. In 2016, she joined Visa, where she held key roles such as Senior Director for Product Solutions Delivery in the CISSEE region, General Manager for the Caucasus, and subsequently, Regional Vice President Manager for Central Asia and Azerbaijan. Since February 2024, she has been Senior Vice President and Group Country Manager CISSEE, leading operations and strategy in 17 countries across South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Ukraine, and Moldova, with her main base in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Under her leadership, Visa has promoted innovations such as Visa Intelligent Commerce, Tap to Phone, and financial inclusion initiatives, including the She’s Next program for female entrepreneurs, contributing to the digitalization of payments in emerging regions. A distinguished graduate of the Executive MBA program at IEDC-Bled School of Management in 2009, Cristina Doros is fluent in Romanian, Russian, and English, demonstrating leadership adaptable to cultural diversity. Her personal life is anchored in her family – her husband and adult daughter – who have supported her through multiple relocations, from Chisinau to Kyiv and Almaty, offering her perspective on the balance between career and family presence.
