Ștefania Tătaru is a high-performance athlete from the Republic of Moldova, known for her remarkable achievements in muay thai and kickboxing at a very young age. At just 11 years old, she became the world champion in muay thai, a title won in competitions in Thailand, when she defeated the fighter from Egypt in the 37-kilogram category. This victory marked the first gold medal for the Republic of Moldova at the WMF federation's world championships, a historic achievement for Moldovan sports, more than two decades after the last victory of its kind in 1997. Ștefania was selected and supported by the National Muay-Tay and Kickboxing Federation, under the leadership of president Vitali Perciun, who identified her as having the necessary potential for top-tier competitions. With over five years of experience in combat sports, the young champion has demonstrated exceptional dedication and self-confidence, managing to win more than 11 medals, mostly first places. Her record also includes the Moldova Cup trophies in kickboxing, successes that highlight her versatility and dominance in combat disciplines.
