Vera Kozlovskaia, a remarkable woman from the Republic of Moldova, stood out for her adventurous spirit and exceptional determination in exploring the world, transforming her passion for extreme travel into a career as an overland explorer. Together with her husband, Aldo Giaquinto, she initiated the Alveto Expedition project in 2016, a world tour with a Toyota Land Cruiser converted into a mobile home, named Totò. The couple crossed five continents, visiting over 65 countries, from the Canadian Arctic tundra to the Australian deserts and the volcanoes of Guatemala, promoting a minimalist and sustainable lifestyle. As a SPOT brand ambassador, Vera uses satellite communication technologies for safety in remote areas, adapting to challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, when they were stranded in parking lots in Florida. Although she previously worked in IT in the UK, Vera gave up her stable career to pursue her dream of discovering cultures and nature, saving for three years for the expedition. She collaborates with the non-profit organization Try to Give Back, founded by the couple, through which they have planted over 6,000 trees from YouTube revenue and supported local communities with financial, food, and environmental aid. In this extreme sports context, Vera practices off-roading in harsh conditions, from the Death Road in Bolivia to crossing the Arctic Circle, promoting awareness of pollution and overconsumption. Although her main base of operations is associated with Italy through her husband's base, her global expeditions position her as an inspiring figure in adventure sports. Vera's personal life is marked by a love at first sight encounter with Aldo in Italy at Christmas, culminating in a signed "contract" for their shared dream of travel. Born in Moldova, she nostalgically recalls her childhood spent in the snow, which cultivated her love for nature, and their marriage endures through spontaneity, love, and adaptability. The couple continues to inspire with messages like "don't wait for the perfect time, invest in experiences," planning to cross Africa in 2023 to complete six continents.
