About
Ecaterina Tabanscaia was a team leader in the "22nd Party Congress" collective farm in the Fălești district, Moldavian SSR. She was born on August 28, 1941, in the village of Ciolacul Nou, Fălești district. She began her professional career after graduating from secondary school in 1958, joining the local collective farm, later named "22nd Party Congress". In 1962, Ecaterina Tabanscaia was entrusted with leading a team within the field brigade. In the same year, she enrolled in the part-time department of the Camenca State Farm-Technical School. In 1965, she became a member of the CPSU. During the Seventh Five-Year Plan (1959–1965), the young team leader managed to efficiently organize her team's work. Due to the use of advanced cultivation methods and skillful work organization, the team began to achieve rich harvests annually. Thus, in the period 1962–1965, the average sugar beet yield over an area of 48.5 hectares was 345 centners per hectare; in 1962, 400 centners were obtained, which was 109 centners more than the average for the collective farm (where beets were cultivated on over 700 hectares). High indicators were also achieved for other crops: corn yielded 50–55 centners/ha, and sunflowers yielded 18–22 centners/ha. By Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 31, 1965, for achievements in increasing the production and harvesting of sugar beet, Ekaterina Pavlovna Tabanskaia was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor, with the presentation of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal "Hammer and Sickle". After graduating from the technicum in 1967, Ekaterina Cozmac (maiden name) worked as a vegetable agronomist at the "Zhdanov" collective farm in Fălești district (1967–1969). In 1970, she returned to the "XXII Congress of the Party" collective farm and led a tobacco growers' brigade, which subsequently consistently achieved high yields (averaging over 25 centners/ha). In 1980, Ekaterina Gurduza (second married name) participated in the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy (VDNKh) of the USSR. She was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Moldova, a deputy in local Soviets, and a member of the bureau of the collective farm's party organization. She was a delegate to the XXVII Congress of the CPSU (1986), the XVI Congress of the VLKSM (1971), and the XII Congress of the Communist Party of Moldova (1966). She was awarded: Order of Lenin (31.12.1965) Order of the October Revolution (10.03.1978) Medals, including the Bronze Medal of the VDNKh of the USSR (07.05.1980).
