Iulia Puica is a Moldovan film director and animator who has developed her career in cinema with a special focus on auteur films and commercial productions. After graduating from the Academy of Music, Theater, and Arts in Chisinau, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in film directing and editing (2008-2012) and a master's degree in animation directing (2012-2014), she initially worked as an independent filmmaker from Moldova. Her professional trajectory solidified with her move to Japan, where she became director at Somnium Film in April 2020. As director at SomniumFilm in Tokyo, Iulia Puica has worked on a variety of film projects, including feature films, commercial advertisements, and music videos. Her experience in the film industry has covered both the technical aspects of production and the creative aspects of art direction, demonstrating remarkable flexibility in navigating between different genres and production formats. Her presence in Japan has allowed her to integrate into the Japanese cinematic ecosystem, an environment known for innovation and artistic experimentation in filmmaking.
