About

Aliona Martiniuc is a professional volleyball player from the Republic of Moldova, born in 1991 in Rîbnița, who has built a top career in Romania and in other strong international leagues. She debuted in Romania at Piatra Neamț, and between 2010 and 2012, she won two championship titles with the Tomis Constanța team, one of the reference teams in Romanian volleyball. In the following years, she played in countries such as Turkey, South Korea, Russia, and Japan, where she played for top-tier clubs, often acknowledging how valuable this Asian experience was for her athletic and personal development. After returning to Romania, Aliona Martiniuc became a pillar of the CSM Lugoj team, contributing significantly to the club's most important trophy, winning the Romanian Supercup, marked by a match with 30 points in the semi-final. She also participated in the Challenge Cup final and decisively contributed to securing third place in the national championship, a period during which she also won the Romanian Cup. In the Divizia A1 stages, she was named MVP, demonstrating consistency and significant offensive impact, and the club announced the extension of her contract, recognizing her as one of the best players of the season. On a personal level, Aliona Martiniuc has a large part of her family in Ukraine, close to the front line, and is deeply affected by the war, living daily in fear for the safety of her relatives. The choice to play in Romania was largely motivated by the desire to be as close to her family as possible, and from this position, she has tried to help and guide other young Moldovan athletes, offering them advice and support regarding employment abroad. Through her solid career and her involvement in supporting other athletes from the region, Aliona Martiniuc is emerging as a significant figure in women's volleyball in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
