About

Irina Madan, a fashion designer from Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, has distinguished herself by creating hand-painted clothing, transforming fashion into wearable art. A graduate of the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chisinau with a degree in fashion design (2009-2013) and of the University of European Studies in journalism and communication (2010-2014), she launched her first painted collection in 2013, inspired by Venice. Since then, she has created over 500 unique pieces, hand-dyed, embroidered, and sewn on cotton canvas with waterproof colors, influenced by dreams, nature, music, and Moldovan roots, winning awards such as the Grand Prix at the international ArtPodium competition (2013), Designer of the Year by Aquarelle Magazine (2015), and 3rd place at Fashion Week San Diego (2018). Her career includes participation in over 20 fashion shows in Moldova, France, Great Britain, Ukraine, and the USA, such as Fashion Days Strasbourg (2014), Tiffany's Fashion Week Paris (2015), Chicago IA Fest (2016-2024), and recent American events like Garden Walk Fashion Show Anaheim (2024) or Moldovan-American Convention Washington D.C. (2024). Based in San Diego, California, for over a decade, Irina has collaborated with platforms like Klumea and shoe designer Irina Calancea, presenting her collections at Fashion Week San Diego and launching her own online store. Her creations, timeless and seasonal, are sold through Etsy and her personal website, emphasizing authenticity and the power of colors to beautify life. Born in 1990 in the Republic of Moldova, Irina Madan discovered her calling in textile painting during her student years, seeing the line between fashion and art as fluid. Having moved to the United States, she continues to create accessories and custom portraits, dreaming of an international luxury fashion atelier. Although detailed information about her personal life is not public, her passion for Moldovan traditions and global inspiration defines her, making her work a tribute to her roots and the colors of life.
