About

Gabriela Atanasov, known under the pseudonym Sweet Paprika, is a renowned Romanian content creator, blogger, influencer, and fashion designer, originally from Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. Born on June 25, 1991, she graduated from the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations, but her passion for fashion turned her into a successful entrepreneur. In 2010, she launched the Sweet Paprika blog, inspired by a line from her high school poem – "Love is sweet as paprika" –, which evolved in 2012 into a fashion brand with the same name, celebrating the aesthetics of the 1950s, Audrey Hepburn, and an Eastern European cultural mix. Her creations, marked as "Sweet Paprika by Gabriela Atanasov", promote theatrical, elegant, and unique dresses made from vintage materials and deadstock fabrics, promoting self-acceptance and timeless beauty. Active mainly in Romania, where she moved the epicenter of her career after spending her first 12 years in Moldova, Gabriela collaborates with local tailors, participates in events such as Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week, and supports emerging Romanian designers. Her brand offers not only clothes but also a rental experience and online storytelling, feeding on the nostalgia of the past – from silent films and Russian culture to the Chișinău glamour of the '90s. Diversifying her talents, she releases original music, including tracks like "Problemi nu's" or emotional remakes, and the #povestitotalirelevante podcast, exploring music, photography, and cinematography. Socially active, she made donations during the pandemic and promotes sustainability in fashion, countering fast-fashion with pieces that have a story. Gabriela's personal life reflects her "sweet and spiced" duality: married to Patrick Popa, she is a mother of two children – a boy and a girl –, keeping her maiden name after marriage as a symbol of her embraced identity. Raised in an artistic environment, with an architect father and passions for painting, dancing, and piano, she migrated from Moldova to Romania, giving up a privileged life to pursue her dreams without regrets. Nostalgic yet ambitious, she practices acupuncture for balance, appreciates solitude, and lives theatrically, inspiring thousands of followers to discover their uniqueness through fashion, art, and personal courage.
