Olga Kleiankina, originally from the Republic of Moldova, has distinguished herself as an exceptional pianist, university professor, and music researcher, primarily active in the United States of America. A graduate of the "Ștefan Neaga" College of Music in Chișinău and the "Gh. Dima" Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, she completed her studies with a master's degree from Bowling Green State University and a doctorate in musical arts from the University of Michigan. Her international career includes solo recitals, chamber music collaborations, and concerts with orchestras from Moldova, Romania, Russia, Chile, France, and the USA, promoting new music and forgotten female composers from the classical period, such as Elisabetta de Gambarini or Marianna Martinez. Currently, Olga Kleiankina is a Professor of Piano and Director of the Piano Program at North Carolina State University, where she has received prestigious awards, including the Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor Award in 2021 and the Outstanding Teacher Award in 2016, and is a member of the Academy of Outstanding Teachers. She has released albums such as "...Our Passage to the Stars...", "Abstractum", and "Forever Treasures: Women Composers of the Classical Period", collaborating interdisciplinarily with engineers and designers on multimedia projects like the Piano+ app for beginners and AI visual performances presented at the Smithsonian Museum and the North Carolina Museum of Art. She has participated in international contemporary music festivals in Romania, Russia, Moldova, Chile, and Colombia. Her childhood spent in a small town in Moldova, in a family of engineers from Siberia, cultivated her love for popular and folk music, and she learned Romanian, Russian, and Ukrainian. At the age of five, she enrolled herself in music school, demonstrating perseverance, and her journey from a curious child to a well-rounded artist underscores her educational philosophy: music is not just a skill, but a means to express emotions, build confidence, and discover personal purpose, lessons she shares with her students from diverse fields such as engineering and bioengineering.
