About
Maria Kinaș, also known as Mașa Kinaș, is the founder and owner of the first professional Pilates studios in the Republic of Moldova, PilatesM Studio, where for over 17 years she has promoted the philosophy of conscious movement inspired by Joseph Pilates. A bearer of knowledge passed down by the second generation of direct students of the method's founder, she has developed a unique methodology based on the Romana's system, adapted to local needs, which includes individual and group training for all ages and fitness levels. With thousands of hours of personal practice, supported by a second higher education in kinesitherapy and sports medicine, Mașa has revolutionized access to Pilates in Chisinau, opening branches in the city center and in Râșcani, helping thousands of people achieve a total transformation of body and mind through 30 structured sessions. As a lead instructor and mentor for the training of Pilates professionals, Masha Kinas collaborates closely with her husband, Yuri Kinas, an osteopathic physician, clinical psychologist, and manager of PilatesM studios, creating a multidisciplinary team that integrates physical and mental health. Her studios, such as MASHA studio and PilatesM, offer personalized programs for treating musculoskeletal conditions – from scoliosis and hernias to joint problems – promoting the principle of "from the inside out," with a focus on the skeleton, deep muscles, and the body's energy center. Her appearances on TV shows, such as those on PROTV, have popularized Pilates as a science of correct movement, recommended for professional athletes, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic pain, emphasizing the importance of qualified trainers over unsupervised exercises. In her personal life, Masha Kinas is a mother of four children, an experience that demonstrated the effectiveness of Pilates even during pregnancy, allowing her to continue training without interruption. Her impressive sports background – professional dancing and karate – evolved into a conscious pursuit of health after observing the risks of unconscious movements. Her conviction that Pilates extends life by up to 10 years through profound changes in quality of life motivates her to expand the studio network, offering not just exercises, but a philosophy of pain relief and free movement, inspiring generations of Moldovan women to prioritize holistic health.
