Irina Jomir, born in 1983 in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, is an internationally awarded fine art and portrait photographer, currently based in Oslo, Norway. Her career is distinguished by stylized visual works that explore feminine depth, psychological complexity, and themes of identity, transformation, and human emotions, drawing inspiration from classical art history, mythology, and spiritual aesthetics. Among her main achievements are the title of Photographer of the Year at the Budapest International Foto Awards 2023, first place at the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, the Women United Art Prize 2024, and Picture of the Year at Landskonkurransen 2025 – the Norwegian national photography competition, where her image "Destiny – Rebirth" achieved a perfect score. Her works have been published in prestigious volumes such as One Eyeland „Best of The Best Photographers 2019 & 2021”, Trierenberg Super Circuit „Luxury Edition XII” and „30 Years Winner’s Collection 1992-2022”, as well as in 101 Art Books: Portrait Edition. The emblematic project „Destiny – The Shaping of Fate” was exhibited at the Chianciano Art Biennale 2024 and is part of the permanent collection of the Museo d’Arte Chianciano Terme in Italy, also being presented in other European galleries through platforms like ArtConnect and kunstmatrix. Irina has collaborated with renowned photographic organizations, including Norges Fotografforbund, and has been a jury member in international competitions such as Capturing Wow. As a visual artist, Irina Jomir combines staged photography with digital collage and digital painting to create symbolic and atmospheric narratives, focusing on the natural power of femininity and the confrontation with the perceptual status quo.
