About
Victoria Cocieru is a remarkable Moldovan fashion designer, the founder of the Kheops brand, launched in 2011 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, and later expanded to the United States of America. A graduate of the Technical University of Moldova with a degree in industrial fashion design (2009-2013), she gained experience working in the sample team for international brands such as Armani, Burberry, Max Mara, and Guess. She made a successful debut in 2010, opening a store in Chisinau where she sold 200 pieces on the first day, catering to local clients and celebrities. Her creations are distinguished by unique elements such as metal, leather, crochet, geometric silhouettes, decorative stitching, and unconventional cuts that highlight beauty in unexpected ways. In the United States, where she moved in 2016 after winning the Green Card through the lottery, Victoria developed Kheops as a ready-to-wear brand for strong women, blending glamour with grunge and promoting an independent feminine attitude. Her participation in season 18 of the show Project Runway, where she became a finalist and presented a collection at New York Fashion Week using fabrics from her own company Kiki Textiles, brought her into the international spotlight. Her creations have been worn by personalities such as Patricia Zavala from E! and Rio Summers from America's Next Top Model, and have been featured in publications like Culture Trip and at major fashion shows worldwide. Born and raised in a small village in Moldova, Victoria was encouraged by her mother, who dreamed of becoming a designer, to follow her natural talent for fashion, leaving the village at 18 for her studies. Married to a former professional football player, with whom she emigrated to the US, she leads an all-female team at Kheops, collaborating with partner Mariana Badia and adapting to the American market through market research, aesthetic compromises, and customer feedback. Dedicated to innovation, Victoria emphasizes the importance of continuous creation, transforming challenges like the pandemic into opportunities for casual yet distinctive outfits.
