About

Olesea Ioniță, a fashion designer originally from the Republic of Moldova, discovered her passion for fashion in childhood, at her mother's sewing machine, where she created her first designs alongside her older brother. Having lived in Italy for over 14 years, she graduated in 2010 with a specialization in Pattern Making and Textile Merchandising from Instituto Feller in Turin, after six years of intensive studies. She launched successful collections such as STRUCTURE for Spring/Summer 2013, presented at the Astronomical and Space Museum, and opened her own Studio di Moda & Ricerca, where she offers pattern making services, prototypes, and innovative creations, attracting the attention of the Italian press and fashion world. In close collaboration with her colleague Debora Ingrassia, Olesea has developed a dynamic workshop in Turin, at Via Giulia di Barolo 23, where she experiments with unusual materials and advanced techniques, inspired by professors like Claudio Mainini. A member of Associazione Tessile Salute, she promotes ethical and sustainable fashion, participating in events such as Torino Fashion Week and initiating projects like EcoModa, with a focus on natural fabrics from Moldova. She has trained Moldovan pattern makers through practical workshops, emphasizing the importance of applying knowledge in practice, and sells innovative creations in pharmacies in northern Italy, demonstrating the versatility of her business. Olesea remains deeply connected to her Moldovan roots, frequently visiting Chisinau and spending time with her siblings and children at her grandparents' during holidays. Inspired by designers like Gianfranco Ferré and Rick Owens, she advises young people to learn pattern making for achievable creations, promoting a responsible fashion style with an emphasis on ethics, taste, and mind-body-garment harmony. Her dream includes investments in Moldova, such as an association similar to the Italian one, to unite local designers in eco-friendly projects.
