Alina Speshneva (1940-1984) was a renowned Soviet theater artist, specializing in stage design and artistic design. Born on February 18, 1940, into the family of a playwright and director, she inherited her passion for art from a family environment rich in theatrical and cinematic culture. After graduating from the art faculty of the Institute of Cinematography of the Soviet Union, Speshneva initially worked as a postulator artist at the Soyuzmultfilm animation studio, where she contributed to the creation of several notable animated films, including "My Green Crocodile" (1966) and "Six Ivans, Six Captains" (1967). In 1970, Alina Speshneva continued her professional career at the S.V. Obraztsov State Central Puppet Theatre in Moscow, where she was promoted to the position of chief artist (1970-1984). In this capacity, she designed the stage sets for eight performances that marked the history of the theater, including classic productions such as "The Soldier and the Witch" (1971), "The Mysterious Hippopotamus" (1974), and "Three Fat Men" (1977). Her collaboration with the theater's directors and technicians, particularly with Vladimir Garbuzov, resulted in innovative stage creations that set new standards in the field. In addition to her work in puppet theater, Speshneva maintained an active film career, working as a postulator artist on the feature film "Ordinary Miracle" (1978) directed by Mark Zakharov, where she created memorable special effects. She was a member of the Union of Soviet Artists and the International Association of Animated Film (ASIFA). Unfortunately, her remarkable career was tragically cut short on April 19, 1984, when she passed away at the age of 44 in Moscow, leaving behind a significant legacy in the history of Soviet theater and film art.
