About

Born on August 8, 1983, in Ukraine, Nina Iagolnitser grew up in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, where her passion for writing manifested early in middle school, with her first stories published in children's magazines. Emigrating to Israel at 19, she studied cinematography at Tel Aviv University but abandoned it in favor of literature, becoming a natural storyteller. Today, the author of several novels and novellas, focusing on the 16th-century historical detective genre, she has published volumes such as "Besarul in capcana de argint" and "Feldmareșalul in clopoței" with the Russian publisher AST, as well as with Hertfordshire Press in Great Britain, and has won international competitions, including "Open Eurasia." Besides writing, her professional career is varied: a film director for a first troupe, she worked for years for two airlines, and currently works as a dental assistant in Israel. Her participation in the Open Eurasian Literary Festival in 2023 marked a highlight, alongside contributions to anthologies and publications in Russia, where her works explore unverified legends and historical intrigues with subtle humor and vivid imagery. Her creation, described as a "carpet woven from patches" of life, reflects personal experiences transformed into therapeutic fiction. Nina's personal life is anchored in Israel, where she is raising two sons, balancing motherhood with writing, which she began in childhood and resumed during difficult periods, such as her divorce at 29. Her Moldovan roots from Chisinau inspire her stories, and her vocation as a "collector of legends" defines her, complementing her daily profession with a rich fictional universe where historical details become captivating adventures.
