With a solid background obtained at the State University of Moldova in foreign languages and an MBA from Fuqua School of Business (Duke University), where she was designated Fuqua Scholar, Harea has accumulated considerable expertise in investment portfolio management, risk management, and financial institution restructuring. The most notable position in her career was Vice Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (2016-2020), where she was involved in implementing ambitious post-crisis banking system reforms and coordinated critical issues such as banking regulations, payment systems, and international relations with international financial institutions. In the field of private investments and business development, Cristina Harea held the position of Investment Director and Country Manager for Moldova at Horizon Capital, a regional private equity firm with 0 million in assets under management, where she managed a portfolio of over million in sectors such as banking, consumer goods, and agribusiness.
