Date of birth: 14.11.1935 Date of decree: 22.03.1966 Medal no.: 11723 Order of Lenin no.: 346309. Emilia Gonța was a milkmaid at the Chisinau Winery and Viticulture State Farm-School, Moldavian SSR. She was born on November 14, 1935, in the village of Zagoreni, Orhei. From 1959, she worked as a milkmaid at the dairy farm of the Chisinau Winery and Viticulture School (after the 1963 merger with the "Grătiești" state farm). By studying the experience of leading milkmaids and applying the best methods of feeding, maintenance, and animal care, she became a master of high milk yields. As a leading milkmaid, she participated in the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy of the Moldavian SSR. During the years of the extended seventh five-year plan (1959–1965), she was among the first at the state farm-school to be awarded the title of shock worker of communist labor. During the period 1961–1965, Emilia Gonța obtained an average of 4031 kg of milk per cow per year, which was 1348 kg more than the average for the school sovkhoz. In 1965, she produced 4935 kg, compared to the planned 4000 kg and the unit average of 3650 kg. In 1965, the production cost of one quintal of milk was 11 rubles, one ruble less than planned. During the period 1964–1965, she achieved a 100% survival and growth rate for calves. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 22, 1966, for the successes achieved in the development of animal husbandry and the increase in the production of milk, meat, eggs, and wool, Emilia Gonța was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor, and was presented with the Order of Lenin and the gold medal "Hammer and Sickle". In 1967, the state recognized the successes of the Chisinau winemaking and viticulture school sovkhoz by awarding it the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. From 1969, Emilia Gonța worked as a laboratory assistant at the winemaking and viticulture school sovkhoz. She retired in the 1980s. She was decorated with the Order of Lenin (March 22, 1966) and several medals.
