Svetlana Galiant was born on May 23, 1973, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, and became one of the most decorated athletes in SAMBO. Throughout her remarkable career, she has won 7 world titles and 8 World Cup victories, being recognized as the most decorated athlete in the Far East region of Russia, which she represents from Kamchatka Krai. For her exceptional achievements, Svetlana was awarded the Medal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "For Military Valor" Second Class and held the title of "Gold Belt," also being a multiple winner of the "Athlete of the Year" title. Svetlana received her academic training at the Far Eastern State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, which she graduated from with honors. Her sports career developed under the guidance of renowned coaches, including Sergey Sergeev, Alexander Chistyakov, and Aslam Saduev. After dedicating decades to competitive activity, Svetlana Galiant announced her retirement from professional sports, focusing her efforts on high-quality coaching activities and public service. Beyond the competitive arena, Svetlana has been deeply involved in promoting sports and youth development. She holds the position of Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Kamchatka Krai, contributing to the development of the local social and political agenda. With a passion for sports, Svetlana regularly organizes free masterclasses for children in Kamchatka and supports experimental athletic training programs for kindergarteners, demonstrating her commitment to transforming a love for sports into a mission for education and community development.
