Manuela Bovolenta (Galina Stratulea from Lăpușna, Hîncești district) is a renowned figure in the field of volunteering and advocacy for children's rights, with a career dedicated to UNICEF. Her professional path within UNICEF began in 2011 as a volunteer and progressed through holding positions of increasing responsibility. Initially, she was appointed president of the UNICEF Committee in Como, and in January 2018 she assumed the role of president of the Provincial Committee. In April 2020, she also took on the role of ad interim president of the UNICEF Committee in Varese, demonstrating her ability to manage multiple responsibilities across different territories. In 2020, Manuela Bovolenta was appointed president of the UNICEF Regional Committee for Lombardy, a position she maintained even after her reconfirmation in March 2025. Under her leadership, UNICEF Lombardy promoted significant initiatives in favor of children and adolescents, demonstrating remarkable interpersonal and organizational skills. The activities carried out under her responsibility included advocacy projects, sales of charity items such as Pigotte dolls and bombonieres, as well as campaigns to attract new volunteers. She actively collaborated with local and national structures of the organization, contributing to the expansion of UNICEF's actions throughout Lombardy. Recently, Manuela Bovolenta was appointed national councilor to the Board of Directors of UNICEF Italy, a prestigious recognition for her long-standing commitment.
