Zingher emigrated with her family from Moldova to Germany in 1995 as a Jewish refugee, included in the refugee quota, and grew up in Würzburg, the daughter of an insurance agent and a nurse. She studied European Ethnology and Gender Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin and completed a master's degree in East European Studies in Hamburg. Her journalistic career led her to Radio Eins, Spiegel Daily, Spiegel Online, and Zeit Online, among others. Zingher was a fellow in the Heinrich Böll Foundation's media program for young journalists. Medium magazine selected her for its "Top 30 under 30" list of journalists in 2020. In June 2021, she received the Axel Springer Award in the Silver category for her article "What grows on concrete?". In her article, she writes about her personal experience of migration and how she and her family immigrated as Jewish refugees from the former Soviet Union. Her work focuses particularly on Eastern Europe, Israel, post-Soviet migration, antisemitism, anti-Slavism, racism, and press freedom. Zingher was an editor for society and media at TAZ until 2024. Her bi-monthly column "Grauzone" continues to appear there. From 2024 to 2025, she conducted research on antisemitism for the association demokra eV. She is a regular host of the podcast Zeit Was jetzt?. She works as a freelance journalist and presenter in Berlin.
