Galina Vasiliev is a remarkable environmental scientist from the Republic of Moldova, with an impressive career marked by essential contributions in environmental planning, compliance, and ecological remediation. A graduate of Moldova State University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry (1989-1994), she pursued a four-year doctoral program in Environmental Sciences at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (1994-1998), later obtaining a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (1999-2001). Among her notable achievements is the publication of the study "Validation Of Water Quality Model For The Raut River, Moldova" in 1998, utilizing the QUAL2E model for water pollution analysis, a vital tool for water quality planning in the Răut River basin. His professional career began in Moldova, where he worked as an environmental scientist at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (1994-1998) and at the Regional Environmental Center (REC) in Chisinau (1998-1999), focusing on microbiological analyses, water chemistry, and water quality database management. After emigrating to the United States, he collaborated with prestigious institutions such as the World Bank (knowledge management internship in 2001, focusing on environmental impact analysis in Middle Eastern and North African countries), Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (2001-2002, involved in the Tommy G. Thompson Park master plan), and the University of Wisconsin Green Bay (2000-2001, research on daily maximum pollutant load allocation in the Fox River basin). More recently, he worked as an Environmental Scientist at GeoAnalytics LLC in Florida (2014-2016), excelling in business development and the use of GIS for data management.
