Decree date: 01.07.1968 Medal No.: 14976 Order of Lenin No.: 400048 Lidia Vacarova (Hâncu) was a teacher at Secondary School No. 11 in the city of Chisinau, Moldavian SSR. She began her professional activity in 1945, as a primary school teacher at school No. 11 in Chisinau. Her entire subsequent career was linked to this educational institution, with minor interruptions. Between 1948–1949 she worked as a librarian in Râșcani, and between 1953–1956 she was a teacher at school No. 2 in the city of Edineț. From 1956, she taught uninterruptedly in the primary grades of school No. 11. She always distinguished herself by a creative approach to her work, constantly seeking new and more effective ways to improve the training and education process. Member of the CPSU since 1958. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 1, 1968, for outstanding merits in the communist training and education of students, Lidia Vacarova was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor, and was presented with the Order of Lenin and the gold medal "Hammer and Sickle". She was a delegate to the IXth (1960), XIIIth (1971), and XIVth (1976) Congresses of the Communist Party of Moldova. She was elected deputy to the VIIIth convocation (1971-1975) of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldavian SSR, deputy to the city councils of Chisinau and the October district of people's deputies, as well as a member of the city committees of Chisinau and the October district of the Communist Party of Moldova. She retired in 1980, and in 1982 became a pensioner of all-union importance. Her length of service in the pedagogical field was 35 years. She was decorated with the Order of Lenin (01.07.1968), medals, including "For Courage in Labor" (31.10.1960), and received the badge "Eminent of Public Education". She was awarded the title "Merited Teacher of the Moldavian SSR" (1965).
