Tatiana Țîmbalari, born on January 22, 1996, in the village of Cimișeni, Criuleni district, Republic of Moldova, is a remarkable athlete in the discipline of taekwondo. She began training at the age of 9, alongside her older brother, at the local school, where her first coach was a member of the national team. Although she started in modest conditions, in a small village with only three thousand inhabitants, she won the national champion title eight consecutive Tatiana's international career is marked by participation in 15 major tournaments, including the European Championships (juniors and seniors), World Championships, Universiade, Olympic qualifiers, and continental tournaments. She won silver medals at the Israel Open (2017), bronze at the Greece Open, Belgian Open, Romania Open (Dracula Open), and other open competitions, as well as 3rd place at the Balkan Championship. Top achievements include winning the USAT Illinois State Championship in Chicago (2019, -57 kg category) and notable placements at the World Club Championship or Extra European Championships. With 17 recorded fights (3 wins), she has accumulated 89 lifetime ranking points, demonstrating resilience through comebacks after serious injuries, such as fractures and dislocations, and even a six-month break in 2017. She represented Moldova at events like the Tokyo Olympic Games (qualifications 2021), always dreaming of an Olympic medal. Besides sports, Tatiana studied at the Institute of Physical Education and Sports, preparing for a coaching career. Her determination was evident in courageous decisions, such as returning from the USA (where she had obtained a green card) to continue with the national team, supported by sponsors and coaches like the Dimitrov brothers. Raised in a modest family, with a brother passionate about taekwondo who inspired her, she publicly thanks collaborators Vladislav Mazur, Vadim, and Stepan Dimitrov for their constant support, remaining an example of perseverance and passion for Moldovan sports.
