About
Irina Terehova was born on April 13, 1989, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, and at the age of 12, she moved to Canada, settling in Montreal, Quebec. At 15, she entered the modeling industry by participating in the Miss Soyuz competition in Montreal, which she won, taking first place, and subsequently signed with the agency NEXT Model Management. Throughout her modeling career, she worked for prestigious brands such as L'Oréal, La Senza, Escada, and Rusk, and in 2009, she was chosen to appear in the promotional video for the video game series Need for Speed, also being featured in the advertising materials for Need for Speed: Shift. During the period 2015-2016, Irina Terehova gained notoriety as a writer for the online publication MTL Blog in Montreal, where she contributed under the pseudonym Irina Tee with provocative articles and listicle-style columns about relationships and dating. Her initial article, titled "Things I Hate About Dating and Relationships in Canada," generated intense debates in both Russian and Canadian media, and her direct style and the topics she addressed brought her significant attention, although she also received criticism for alleged misogynistic views. The success of these texts led to invitations for collaborations with other online platforms, including Jetli.com in 2017. Irina's personal life transformed in 2016 when she met Dave Leduc, the world champion in Lethwei, following a trip to Thailand to write a story about him. After this meeting, she decided to move to live with him, and their relationship culminated in an engagement in October 2016 at the Shwesandaw Pagoda in Bagan and a traditional Burmese wedding ceremony on December 13, 2016, in Yangon, broadcast live on national television MRTV to approximately 30 million viewers. The couple also became known as participants in the 2019 show The Amazing Race Canada season 7, where they were marked as the season's main antagonists, and in 2017, they began to get involved in charitable activities helping children infected with HIV/AIDS at the NLD AIDS center in Yangon.
