About
Lidia Isidorovna Sizenova was born on April 16, 1954, in Tiraspol and established herself as one of the region's most remarkable opera vocalists. After graduating from the Odesa Conservatory in 1979, under the guidance of Professor Galina Anatolievna Polivanova, she was invited to the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she spent twenty years with a prestigious career, performing 29 leading roles in classical operas. Despite her success in Siberia and collaborations with renowned tenors such as Valeri Egodin and Nikolai Dmitrienco, Sizenova was particularly recognized for her roles as Tatiana in "Eugene Onegin," Desdemona in "Othello," and Madame Bovary in Bondersville's opera, being one of the first performers of this latter work in the Soviet Union. After two years of performing on Sibiu's stages, in 1999 Lidiia Sizenova returned to her native land in the Republic of Moldova, marking a new stage in her career. She continued her artistic activity as a soloist of the chamber orchestra from the Tiraspol Cultural Palace, with which she toured several Russian cities and participated in the First International Festival of Russian Compatriots in the Diaspora "Pesne Russkaia" in Moscow, where she obtained laureate status. She became a People's Artist of the Republic of Moldova from the UTAN region in 2011 and an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 2023, recognition of her substantial contribution to lyrical culture. Parallel to her artistic activity, Sizenova also dedicated her time and talents to musical education, taking on the position of Head of Department at the State Institute for Administration, Law and Social Sciences within Transnistrian State University, where she trained new generations of specialists in the field. Awarded the honorary plaque from the President of the Russian Federation for achievements in culture and the honorary medal from the Republic of Moldova for merits in work, Sizenova remained a respected personality in the academic and artistic community, demonstrating that true talent and dedication transcend borders and generations.
