Lia Sinchevici was born in the Eastern European city of Rezina, Republic of Moldova, the daughter of two doctors, Vladimir and Maria. Lia has Polish origins. From childhood, she was very poetic, reciting poems in front of audiences, and later became a young TV star at the local television station, broadcasting and hosting various shows, and also being a debate club activist. At the age of 16, her first trip outside Moldova was to the USA, as an exchange student, winning a Future Leaders Exchange scholarship to represent her country's culture. She volunteered excellently in several schools in Ohio and taught people about Moldovan traditions and learned about American culture through her host family. After graduating from high school, she decided to study journalism in Romania, the neighboring country. Very quickly, some modeling agencies in Bucharest noticed her, and she was seen on the runway, in catalogs, in magazines (such as Elle), and in city advertisements, with clients absolutely delighted by her natural beauty. Her agents quickly began recommending her for TV/internet commercials and various artist videos, as Lia acted naturally in front of the camera and enjoyed the process. The commercials and videos she was involved in went viral on YouTube. She soon realized she had a lot to offer the world through acting, so she enrolled in the reputable Dragoș Bucur acting school to test her skills. Encouraged, she starred in two short films, enough to be noticed for Toni Grecu's comedy TV show, one of the leaders of Romanian comedy since 1981. Lia's charisma won over the Romanian public and she quickly became a star. After Lia graduated from Journalism, she enrolled at the National University of Theatre Arts, one of the best acting academies in Europe, to learn all about her talent. In the meantime, Lia made time to study methods, practice versatile compositions in different plays, compete in young actors' competitions, perform on stage, and obtain a master's degree in theatrical art. Lia has only produced a few low-budget international productions at Media Pro studios, but thanks to them, she began her career by meeting and working with world-renowned personalities such as Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgreen, Cuba Gooding Jr., Shia LeBoef, Rupert Grint, Mads Mickelsen, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Christoph Waltz, etc. Directors admire her comedic talents from the famous sitcom productions "Dementia Hospital" and "Romanian Comedy Service," a show where special guests of each episode are the biggest TV and film stars, as well as real politicians; but as a guest on the famous TV show "Guaranteed 100%," in the role of Maggie from "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," she made a strong impression of her dramatic talent. Her first appearance on National Television (TVR2) for a filmed play reached first place in the evening's ratings, captivating the news audience. These and a few other productions are the only ones Lia accepted during her acting studies throughout her 5 years of university. Besides her studies, Lia made time to travel, as she never had the opportunity in her childhood, and forged strong friendships with the greatest Romanian artists from various fields. She has skills in non-verbal theater, dance-theater, and sports such as football, tennis, horseback riding, and stage combat. Now, Lia is involved in numerous creative projects with young generation writers and dedicates her time to Romanian New Wave theater and cinema, being ready to take control of her career.
